TAB of Central New Jersey Celebrates its Members

TAB of Central New Jersey (TAB CNJ) recently held its “annual” cocktail party and awards event in celebration of those members who significantly moved the needle on their businesses in the past year.

TAB CNJ team, Cathy Lawler, Vicky Richards, Kathy Warren and Claudia Franco Kelly was on hand to recognize these remarkable companies.

During the opening remarks TAB CNJ COO, Vicky Richards, paused to reflect back on the last two years and how it impacted and really galvanized this community.

"When the awards were given in 2020 it was hard to choose the recipients….there were so many members who had achieved incredible things and most were poised to have their best years ever; the year in which they would see the personal rewards of years of investment and hard work."

A week later, the world changed and those who were preparing for the best were now faced with unknown challenges with no immediate solutions. There was a lot of fear, disappointment and a huge need for information and community. This was a very difficult situation in which the TAB team struggled watching its members scramble to save or protect their companies, employees and livelihoods.

But then something really uplifting took its place. Between weekly board meetings and town halls TAB members jumped in, engaging with each other across boards, to share information, source new ideas and provide support to each other. It was really incredible and a reminder of why this is such a powerful group of people.

And I am happy to tell you that while some of the TAB CNJ members took some hits, none of them closed their doors and all made it through to the other side. Tales of inspiration truly abound and all of these companies are deserving of recognition.

TAB CNJ's first round of awards, the TAB Leadership Awards went to four members who achieved significant progress in their businesses. We offer this award to members who demonstrate leadership excellence, whether through technology or innovation, company restructuring or re-inventing, or by guiding their teams through rapid success or adversary. This year's leaders were no exception:

In 2022 we also introduced a new award, the TAB MVP award, which went to three special members. The MVP award recognizes members who go above and beyond the call of duty to help their fellow board members individually and to give back to the community as a whole.

These are successful business leaders who are generous with their time, their knowledge and their hard-earned experience. Other members look to them for their support and their leadership and the MVPs always make time for them, as often as needed, no matter how busy they are.
